gdfalksen@gmail.comThis is the professional Livejournal of G. D. Falksen. This journal will be used to provide updates and commentary about my literary, academic and business life.
Information and updates regarding my everyday life can still be found on my
squirrelmadness journal.
You can find my website at: http://www.gdfalksen.com
I have my picture in the first major fashion article about steampunk in the NY Times. You can find the photo gallery. I'm the tall, skinny guy in the red coat and black vest.
I have been quoted in an article on steampunk in the San Francisco Chronicle, which also references my writing.
I am a history graduate student, presently in the middle of pursuing two Masters degrees. Within two or three years I hope to be in the PhD program at Yale, again studying history.
In addition to being a full-time student, I am also a published author. I write in a wide range of genres including historical fiction, pulp adventure, vintage weird, steampunk, modern fantasy, science fiction (often with historical allusions), conspiracy, mystery, suspense and horror. At the moment, I have received the most attention for my steampunk works, although they are only one portion of my writing portfolio.
In my spare time, I master in history, forbidden knowledge from beyond the stars, and plucking the wings from little green fairies. Cocktail, anyone?
